Boaz van Frankenhuyzen has been running his own business,“Boaz Wood and Furniture,” since 2019. The name speaks volumes about the company’s work: creating custom-made furniture. Boaz crafts this furniture primarily from solid wood. Boaz: “Three years ago, I started with the ambition of being able to deliver specialized work to an exclusive clientele.” Boaz Wood and Furniture is located in Schoonrewoerd (Utrecht).

Attention and Precision

This specialized work requires a great deal of attention and precision. For Boaz, it’s essential to help the customer visualize what he’s going to deliver. Since he doesn’t have a showroom, it’s important that he be able to demonstrate this in other ways. “You can get by with samples of material and a few photos, but a nice 3D rendering really says a lot more,” says Boaz. 3D also plays a major role in communication in the workshop. “That way, we know exactly what we’re going to make and how.”

Introduction to IronCAD

Boaz completed his education at the Hout- en Meubileringscollege. It was during his time there that he first encountered IronCAD. He learned the basics of 3D drafting there. To further his knowledge, Boaz took a course at Dynfos. Boaz says, “During the courses, I learned even more features and tips and tricks for IronCAD.”

    Work Faster

Boaz: “What I like about IronCAD is that it lets me visualize the furniture, while also allowing me to create the technical drawings for it.” Communication in the workshop is good because everything is accurately documented on paper. Plus, ordering materials goes faster because automatic bills of materials can be generated.

“So, I really enjoy using it. And let’s not forget: the support team has been a huge help to me on several occasions!”—Boaz.
