Choosing a new drawing package

There are several 3D drawing programs on the market that focus on interior design. Before we finally chose Dynfos’ software solutions, we looked at and tested most of these packages to determine which one best suited our needs. In the end, we chose a program that gave us the most freedom in terms of design, engineering and automation.

Why does Redie choose Dynfos?

Dynfos turned out to be the best choice for us given the following:

  • Dutch and direct support
  • Dynfos is well acquainted with coupling of HOMAG machines
  • Dynfos is open to improvement, input and further development of the product

Implementation period

The rollout of IronCAD within Redie began with one employee. This is to establish a structured database and working method for the company that all future draftsmen and work planners can work with. This created a vision and prevented proliferation.

Starting training sessions

Thanks to the online IronCAD Academy and the training provided by Dynfos, getting started with the program within Redie went smoothly. After the training, we immediately started applying IronCAD in our projects.

After a period of 2 months, the basic IronCAD package was fully integrated and automated, and incrementally more and more projects were worked out with IronCAD. Our aim is to work out as many projects as possible in IronCAD, both single and serial. These include retail and hospitality interiors, private interiors and serial furniture.

All processes linked

The biggest advantage of IronCAD is that what is drawn is immediately transferred to all the underlying processes. Purchasing lists, saw lists and CNC programs all connect to each other, without the need to manually retype anything. Drawing with IronCAD is also more intuitive compared to other 2D and 3D programs thanks to the TriBall and various snap functions.

Making live changes

With assemblies and the internal linking of various drawings, you can set up projects efficiently without making them huge and slowing down your system. You can easily work out your product in a separated environment and then place it in its entirety. The fact that changes can be made “live” is extremely useful for checking connections between assemblies and modifying them where necessary.

Para-Flex implementation period

The implementation of Para-Flex went quickly, within a few weeks the whole package was connected to our machines and we were already using this link immediately on a large project we had worked out in advance with IronCAD.

In our opinion, the package is quite simple and fits well with IronCAD’s working method. There are, of course, some basic rules that you need to consider in order to get good output. Once you have mastered these, it is actually child’s play. We at Redie mainly focus on processing sheet materials, and Para-Flex is perfect for that.

Para-Flex fits in well with our HOMAG machinery. There are always some exceptions to the rule, but even these we try to integrate step by step into the automated process using Dynfos.

Reduce error rate to 0%

The moment a project is out ofworked with IronCAD & Para-Flex, we actually know that the error rate overall drops to almost 0%. Errors that still come to light are usually caused by deviations in supplied materials or human error. The fact is that work preparation is partly woven into the engineering of the projects.

Helpful help desk

The support is extremely helpful and open to feedback to improve the product or tailor it to specific needs that improve the internal process within our company. The fact that support is in Dutch and responds quickly is definitely a plus.
