HangOn
HangOn is a global market leader that specializes in making masking and suspension systems for all industrial paint shops. The company’s origins are in Sweden and now HangOn is present all over the world, with distributors in more than 40 countries.
With the continuous development of international operations, HangOn ensures that it can meet the needs of its customers. HangOn has grown up through a continuity of investment and by designing smart solutions. One example is the “Fill the line” strategy: how to fill my coating line as efficiently as possible.
The move to IronCad
IronCAD was launched within HangOn in 2016. The parent company had been intending to introduce a new 3D CAD package for some time. At the time, this became IronCAD. After extensive testing by the parent company in Sweden, the department in the Netherlands also switched to IronCAD. Willem Aengenend of HangOn says: “IronCAD has just a bit more to offer than alternative 3D drawing programs.”
Visual Designing
IronCAD is used within HangOn for all solutions that deviate from the standard. From a simple plug or hook, to complete hanging or masking solutions for an entirely new project. Willem: “The beauty of IronCAD is that you can visually show and share solutions before they are actually manufactured. So we can literally draw the solution into the product and immediately hang it in a line concept.”
Multiple parts in one scene
An advantage of IronCAD is that multiple items can be designed in one scene. “The ability to model multiple products in one scene and be able to combine them back into one large assembly lets me work productively,” said Willem.
Libraries
HangOn also takes advantage of IronCAD’s library capabilities. For example, they have their own built-up libraries and use Mechanical, the library of pre-made designs for industry standards.
Working with IronCAD, HangOn experiences as an investment in the future, it is proving to be a very effective 3D software package for them.
