Design and More

"Modern designer kitchen by Design and More with white handleless cabinets, turquoise tile wall, wood beams and kitchen island with two bar stools."

Located in Roelofarendsveen you will find Design and More. This furniture making company specializes in custom interiors and furniture. About nine years ago, Roel van der Meer and his now-retired father founded the company together. Design en Meer’s projects mostly consist of larger objects, such as kitchens and built-in cupboards.

The choice of IronCAD

Since 2020, Design and More has also been working with IronCAD. Roel came into contact with the program through his employee. This employee had been taught IronCAD during his education at the Wood and Furnishing College in Amsterdam, where he became acquainted with the advantages of the program. After some trial testing with the trial version and attending the training , Design and More was convinced.

Errors are filtered

“When working out in 2D, as we did before, it was just a question of whether everything was right at the end. Now with IronCAD, we can work out a design completely and you know it’s right,” Roel says. Often it was down to the drawing when mistakes were made in the design process. Design and More’s unique furniture requires unique materials. With IronCAD’s working method, materials are not consumed unnecessarily.

“When working in IronCAD, many errors are now filtered out even before the design reaches the workshop.”

Easily adjust sizing

“A big advantage of IronCAD is the way the program works,” Roel appoints. This allows them to be very flexible to customers. Roel: “With the stretch assembly tool, making a complete cabinet 5 cm shorter or less wide is done in no time.” So changing dimensions is very simple, without having to adjust every view.

Visual presentation

IronCAD makes preparing the job itself easy by drawing everything right the first time. Roel: “Often we simply set up a piece of furniture and add some colors and shadows to give the customer a good idea of the design.” It is possible for customers to view 3D file on the Internet so they can look around for themselves.

Help where needed

Design and More experiences the help desk as a great added value that was decisive in choosing IronCAD. With the support license, the solution to problems is only a phone call away. Roel: “It sometimes happens to us at the end of the drawing process that you have added an action or option to the drawing that is not to your liking and you want to take it out again.” The help desk has occasionally been able to get Design & Meer back on track when something went wrong in the drawing process. The drawing is easily modified or restored after which Design and More gets a working file back.
